October 17, 2022 Briefings, Minoritised voices & expertise by experience TCE Children and Young People’s Voice: Evidence Review BriefingsBy Dr Isabelle Brodie Evidence Review Download This briefing was produced as part of the Tackling Child Exploitation (TCE) Support Programme’s Children and Young People’s Voice work. This began in October 2020 with a series of scoping activities, including a review of data gathered during TCE Programme delivery and a Twitter conversation with the sector. A review of the literature was an important part of the scoping phase of this strand of work, with the broad aim of better understanding the evidence that exists regarding the participation of children and young people in strategic decision making in services relating to child exploitation. The TCE Support Programme focuses on support for strategic leadership regarding all forms of child exploitation. However, while there is extensive evidence regarding children and young people’s participation as service users, there is a lack of discussion around young people’s participation at different levels of decision-making, including senior or ‘strategic level’, and a corresponding lack of evidence regarding children and young people’s participation in relation to different forms of exploitation which this review set out to address.
