Clair Graham is the Head of Service for Contextual Safeguarding at Birmingham Children’s Trust. The Contextual Safeguarding Service is a multi-agency partnership hub called Empower U that brings together police, health, social care, education, housing, youth offending services, licensing, youth services and the voluntary/community sector to tackle child criminal exploitation (CCE) and child sexual exploitation (CSE). Clair was interviewed in February 2022 for this case study in which she discussed the journey that the Contextual Safeguarding Hub has been on to engage more effectively with parents and carers of children and young people who have been exploited and bring them on board as equal safeguarding partners.

Research in Practice is only able to provide technical support for our web services in English.

Acceptable Use Policy

Prohibited uses:

You may use our site only for lawful purposes. You may not use our site:

  • In any way that is unlawful or fraudulent, or has any unlawful or fraudulent purpose or effect.
